Jessica (left) is eccentric concept artist, who had her face removed as artistic statement: Both to disassociate her art from the artist and to turn her own body into piece of conceptual art.

Natalie (right) is talented tattoo artist, who, after witnessing Jessica's exhibition, decided to get inspired by her, but giving the concept her own twist by tattoing her unface with optical illusion.

When Jessica and Natalie were introduced to one another, they found out they have a lot more in common than their artistic souls and smooth unfaces, falling for each other on first sight (yeah, they can see, see below).

Currently, they are married to one another, helping each other with ideas for their art.

To see and talk they use a special collars worn on their necks containing a camera and speaker, similar in technology to the collars worn by headless people.

They eat and breathe through small holes hidden under their chins, but they can't process solid food for obvious reasons, so their diet consists of protein shakes, creamy soups and other liquid food which can be ingested by a straw.

When they are home, they usually remove their collars, opting to navigate their surroundings by touch and sound.

Though they can't speak, their vocal chords are present and they can communicate by muffled sounds, sounding like person with their mouth gagged or closed shut.

While other people may only understand the most rudimentary vocalizations like "yes" and "no", they developed a sort of language based on these mumbling sounds only they can fully understand, which can be sometimes surprisingly effective at communicating their thoughts to one another, while to describe more complicated concepts, they usually "write" with a finger on each other's unfaces, which are very sensible to touch.

Sometimes, if they are out together, either one might be seen without her collar, the other then guides her blind and nearly mute partner and, if needed, translates the mumbling to audible speech.

And while one might think their unfaces are just empty, expressionless stretches of skin where once were their faces, it is very much not the case.

While their jaws were fixed shut, noses removed, eye sockets smoothed over and the whole part then covered in uninterrupted stretch of skin, all the facial muscles are still there, so their unfaces are still able to show emotions by little wrinkles, stretches and movements where once their eyebrows, noses and mouths used to be.
